Brent Hammond has always been an entrepreneur at heart. At age
eight he left his lemonade stand behind for a more profitable
venture — hiring his friends to run a candy store out of an old
tractor tire. As it turned out, Brent would earn his fortune not with
junk food but by selling the kind of vegetables most eight–year–
olds do their best to avoid.

In 1997 he launched his first company, Fresh Piks, an organic food delivery service. One of the first web–based delivery services in North America to survive and thrive, Fresh Piks was a rare success story. In a market dominated by larger players, Brent dealt creatively with the restrictions of a low–margin, high–overhead operation. He learned business strategy inside–out as he built Fresh Piks from scratch into a million–dollar company.

To get to that peak of success, Brent drew from his previous career as an outdoor guide leading wilderness hikes and canoe trips throughout British Columbia. By applying the principles of adventure to the day–to–day realities of his life at Fresh Piks, Brent discovered a new approach to business — one that allowed him to realize his long–held dreams of entrepreneurial success.

By the time he sold the company in 2003, Fresh Piks had won the E–commerce Site of the Year Award two years in a row, and was the #1 organic food delivery service on Vancouver Island serving 12,000 Victoria residents.

After Fresh Piks was sold for a significant profit, Brent further refined his unique approach to business. Drawing from his years at Fresh Piks, he combined the principles of adventure with over 20 years of experience in success courses and personal development programs. The result was Trailblazer Business Adventures, a success program unlike any other.

These days when he’s not helping fellow entrepreneurs on the path to their dreams, Brent challenges himself with backcountry expeditions, part–time acting, and, as always, the annual Polar Bear swim.
